Constable Michael Sugrue

Seated on right in photograph, Michael Sugrue was one of three brothers who joined the Police. They were natives of Everaugh, Co Kerry. Although most of his service was in Beara, this photograph was taken in Carrick-On-Suir where he also served. On Disbandment of the R.I.C. in 1922 he returned to Castletownbere where he farmed until his death in the early 1970’s
