 This Project which recorded many of the headstones, tombstones and graveyard monument memorials throughout Beara, was undertaken during 1975 by a group of students from the Mercy Convent School, Castletownbere under the direction of the late Daniel Madison O’Brien, then Bank Manager (Leinster & Munster Bank, Castletownbere), a well known local historian and author of ‘Beara – A Journey Through History’
